Driver

20 hours per week

The Drivers  primary function is to transport clients to and from Gateway as well as to various locations in a safe and efficient manner. Pick up/drop off for program.  Responsibilities also include maintaining the safety of clients on the van and  reporting van maintenance  and client issues to supervisor or designee.

Must have current licensing requirements for driving a service bus (Public Service License) and clean driving record. Must demonstrate ability to interact in a professional and courteous manner. Must have a desire and ability to work with adults with severe and prolonged psychiatric illness and co-occurring disorders.  Must be able to follow through on delegated responsibilities.  Must be able to function as part of a team including being able to share driving responsibilities by negotiating schedules and covering for other team members and having other team members cover for them.  Must be available to work a flexible schedule.  May be called to work on short notice. Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance as all  positions require at least minimal travel to monthly all agency meetings, etc. Must possess working phone.   Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 3 months of date of hire and maintain certification throughout employment, training provided by Gilead.  Must maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
