 Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant - Driver

 
 Southeast Iowa Blood Center, an affiliate of

has an opportunity available for a

Phlebotomist Driver

 for it’s Ottumwa, IA location.

Position Summary:

Drives MVRBC mobile collection vehicles to and from mobile drives. Assists in daily inspection of vehicles to ensure vehicles are safe to be driven. Must abide by all laws and regulations associated with driving (must adhere to speed limits, stop lights, etc.)


Job Responsibilities / Position Information for the Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant - Driver include: 
 

  • Operates all departmental vehicles with appropriate licensure and within state laws.

  • Drives to and from mobile operations and maintains safe driving standards.  Attends all safe driving courses provided by the MVRBC.  Assists in training new employees in safe driving courses.

  • Able to operate vehicles pulling and backing up large and small trailers with out damage to vehicles.

  • Able to confidently operate vehicles while safely carrying passengers in many types of weather condition.

  • Assists with maintenance of appearance of vehicle to include washing, cleaning inside and reporting to Fleet Manager when maintenance is needed.

  • Assists with maintenance of mobile equipment when scheduled by Supervisor of Mobile Operations.  Completes appropriate documentation when maintenance is performed.

  • Responsible for hemobile, including filling of propane and water tanks, emptying waste water tank, assuring that cleaning has been done after use, and others and required or assigned.

  • Able to communicate needs for vehicles/equipment


Schedule:
Variable hours, days and evenings including some weekends

Requirements for the Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant - Driver include:

 

Education / Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, or equivalent.

 

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Must be insurable with a good driving record

  • Customer service skills essential.

  • Must be able to pass DOT physical

  • Must be able to pass appropriate DMV licensing tests   

 

Licensure / Certifications:

  • CPR certification required within 3 months of hire.
