Description Join our EMS team that is part of St. Mary's Hospital.  We offer autonomy and are a self directed team.  Northern Wisconsin is an ideal area for outdoor sports and activities. We have a small town atmosphere and are close to many lakes and resorts. This is a casual, as needed position.  Schedule will vary and includes every other weekend and holiday.  On call required with a 15 minute response time to the Pelican Lake Fire Department.
 
The Emergency Vehicle Operator's responsibilities include being a dependable and cooperative individual who provides safe emergency vehicle operation, adhering to the State of Wisconsin rules.  Demonstrates care and concern for team, patients, and bystanders.  Will exhibit physical traits that allow assistance with patient care activities.  See physical requirements for EMT.  Will attend continuing education and will be subject to on/call hours.  Performs other duties as directed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Trained to hazardous material awareness level. 
  • Attendance in Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course.
  • Certification in First Aid or holds a temporary Ambulance Attendant (EMT-B) license or certified First-Responder. 
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (health care provider or professional rescuer). 
  • Maintains current certification/licensure. 
  • Renews CPR/BLS certification bi-annually. 
  • Maintains a good driving record, attending E.V.O.C. every 2 years.
