Interpret RFP requirements within technical discipline Support military and Federal government bid and proposal, Request for Proposal (RFP) responses for engineering and design/ build projects worldwide Prepare RFQs for design and construction specialty services, and recommend the preferred service provider after reviewing bid responses Assist project manager in design planning, design management, material selections, design change management, and submittals review Lead design activities by subcontractor A/E firms, institute independent review Prepare conceptual designs - manage subsequent design efforts Develop corrective actions and work around strategies to maintain the design schedule Assist in developing SOPs for engineering and design services related to position discipline Conceptualize engineering designs and lead the preparation of architectural engineering plans with A/E firms, as appropriate Interpret design documents in support of bids and construction Responsible for managing the development of designs from initial requirements to final bid package: for coordinating reach back technical support from start of construction through completion of construction and verification of all necessary documentation. Ensure these designs meet customer requirements, are complete and technically correct, submitted on time and within budget. Review designs, calculations, specifications, cut sheets, lab data, samples, manufacturer data, and other submittals for applied means and methods, for constructability, and for proper selection of materials and construction techniques Review maintenance and inspection program for facility infrastructure
BS Degree, Civil Engineering from accredited school; in lieu of degree, candidate must show 8 years directly related working experience in the listed primary discipline. Primary discipline being Airfield Pavements, with strong background in Civil Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering. Ten (10) years of professional experience with all aspects of design and construction/modification of airfields, aprons, taxiways and a sufficient working knowledge of AutoCAD applications in these areas. Three (3) years as design leader in multi-discipline infrastructure projects, primary Airfield work. Registered Architect or PE required in engineering discipline Government and/or military experience is a added benefit.
