Job Description

DUTIES:

Will recruit patients for research studies; acts as patient advocate, explains study purposes, and obtains informed consent. Follows study protocols in scheduling of tests and procedures; administers experimental and non-experimental medications. Collects, labels, and stores blood, urine, and other specimens for analysis. Collects, correlates, and files patients' records and laboratory data for analysis; counsels patients with respect to medical conditions and action needed, including diet and needed therapy. Assists in or carries out nursing treatments ordered on research study patients. Monitors and evaluates patients involved in research studies, including patient response to therapy. Advises physician on current patient condition, including possible side effects of therapy. Collects and analyzes various charts and data on inpatients and outpatients currently participating in research studies for submission to physician and/or for reporting to granting agencies. Prepares internal and external reports for physicians, research study coordinators, and/or granting agencies; creates and develops source documentation. Develops and carries out teaching plan relative to protocol. Attends occasional out-of-town professional meetings.

SALARY: Commensurate with Education and experience

 

MUST HAVE LABOR  & DELIVERY EXPERIENCE

SHIFTS HOURS: 11:00a - 9:00p / 9:00p - 7:00a. /  and Week-end nite hours

Job Requirements

BSN or Associates degree, and licensure as Registered Nurse by Board of Nurse Examiners for State of Texas. Minimum of (2) years experience. Experience of Infectious Disease preferred.

CPR certification required.
