Job Description 

Assists in the management and integration of nursing quality management activities within the organization and the health system.

 

Collaborates with other departments to provide for the overall achievement of the Cleveland Clinic quality management and improvement plan. 

 

Directly impacts the quality of patient care through identifying opportunities to improve care and recommending actions to positively impact the quality and the cost of care for Nursing . 

 

Participates in Shared Governance Councils for assigned clinical areas and facilitates quality improvement projects within these councils. 

 

Provides consultation services to all departments involved in quality management activities, i.e., The Joint Commission (TJC), National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

 


Job Requirements 

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Registered Nurse with a strong clinical back ground.  BSN preferred.

 

Knowledge of healthcare systems, analysis and evaluation techniques, statistical methodologies for application to evaluation of clinical processes. 

 

Knowledge of quality/management/improvement methodologies, i.e., risk management, utilization review, data collection and analysis processes as applied to healthcare functions. 

 

Current knowledge of external regulatory standards, financial systems related to healthcare. Basic knowledge of word processing applications, spreadsheet programs, entering in database applications, using Web Based technology to find resource information.

 

Experience with the organization and presentation of instructional events.  Plus strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills; must have good oral, written and interpersonal skills, and strong analytical and organization skills.

 

Five (5) years experience as a clinical registered nurse; one year of supervisor experience or experience in a Quality Coordinator/management position.

 

Required Licensure, Certification or Registry

Registered Nurse with a current and active license in state of Florida.
