RJO offers the latest in order entry technology coupled with 24-hour execution and clearing on every futures exchange worldwide. RJO services a nationwide network of over 200 introducing brokers as well as some of the world's largest financial, industrial and agricultural institutions.


Summary

2nd level Application support, working with a team of 4, as part of the larger application development team. The candidate will interact directly with business end users, developers, and management.

 

Responsible for analyzing and hands on initial management of production incidents and executing the correct procedures, or escalation paths. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping improve incident management process and tools, as well as maintaining support documentation.

 

The position does offer the opportunity to be involved in application development and design.


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Focus on production support based on standard practices and documentation.
  • The role will include the meeting of Service Level Agreements in production operations.
  • The candidate will be focused on day-to-day implementation and support of internal trading systems, documentation and creation of new tools.
  • Candidate must exhibit a professional, calm demeanor with strong communication skills, responsive customer service attitude, and a commitment to working in a team environment.
  • The candidate will need to maintain and develop internal customer relationships.
  • Must show effective verbal skills while dealing with production issues as well as good written skills for documentation and follow up.
  • Will be responsible for taking system design direction from senior engineers and senior development staff.
  • Successful candidate will show initiative, and be proactive in proposing new or enhancing existing procedures as well as proposing system improvements.
  • Will be responsible for documenting support procedures and processes.
  • Regular work hours, as well as rotational on call shift coverage of after hour periods.
Requirements Qualifications
  • Strong technical experience in Windows 2000/2003 Server & SQL Server 2000/2005
  • Operate on the support Desk, interact with clients, participate in Incident Management and Problem Management of operational incidents
  • Knowledge of trading mechanisms (placing orders and life cycle)
  • Experience with SQL language and Databases
  • Knowledge of C# is a major plus
  • Must have experience with messaging middleware such as MQ series, Sonic or Tibco
  • Must have derivatives trading industry/applications experience
  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or significant relevant industry experience
  • Certifications a plus, but not required
