Description
The qualified individual will be able to read and interpret blue prints, BOM's, and/or detailed work instructions in order to convert raw material into a completely machined and/or assembled sheet metal item. The individual should be able to work with limited supervision, and provide feedback to both Operations Management and Engineering for process improvements
Specific Responsibilities:
- Machine and/or Assemble RFI Sheet metal items from raw material and/or previous sheet metal operations IAW with all applicable standards and specifications.
- Meet production and delivery schedules as defined by Operations management, Sales & Marketing, and/or RFI Engineering.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely feedback to management should any issues arise that may jeopardize delivery commitments (i.e. Material Shortages, etc.), as well as providing recovery recommendations.
- Act as a liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing to insure proper flow-down of any prototype development prior to formal release (DFM)
- In accordance with RFI Corporation’s Lean transformation, help maintain departmental Value Stream Tracking centers, Team Improvement boards, and Scheduling boards.
- Reduce Lead Time across all Assembly processes.
Requirements
General Skills required:
- Mechanical Assembly and Machining skills as expected of a Sr. level Sheet metal Mechanic.
- Ability to interpret Blue prints, BOM’s, Work instructions, and/or Customer supplied data.
- Ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as: Pneumatic table lift, and/or Electric pallet jack.
Special Skills desired: (Will train as needed)
- Operation of NC Milling equipment.
- Operation of NC Lathes.
- Operation of Manual and Semi-automatic Sheet metal shears.
- Operation of Band Saw.
- Operation of CNC Punch Press. (Amada equipment a +)
- Operation of Bending and Forming equipment. (i.e. Brake, Kick Press)
- Spot Welding.
- Mechanical Assembly skills in Tube Bending, Rolling, Staking, and Riveting.
- Knowledge of FabriWin software a +.
