Job Description

We have a contract opportunity for a Manufacturing Process Tech to work for a client in the Midland area. This is a contract assignment to work on an afternoon or third shift. It could be long term with potential for future direct hire with the client.
It is critical to have injection mold experience with plastics and materials.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be responsible for building and maintaining all basic tooling. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Prototype molds, Production molds, and special tooling; Production Department's specialized needs including repair and modification of purchased machines and tooling.
This position reports to the Mold Shop Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least five years tool and die experience in plastic injection mold construction.
Must be familiar with machining properties and precision measuring instruments. Knowledge in machining operations, mathematics, and blueprint reading. Demonstrated experience with CNC (lathe and mill), programming and editing, set up, and operation. Experience in surface grinding, benchwork, and manual machining. Basic computer skills needed, such as Word and Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Over ten years experience as Tool and Die Maker with experience in plastic injection mold construction. Programming skills (such as CAD/CAM or MasterCam), familiar with ISO-9001 standards, and EDM experience.
