 Description
our client is looking for a Mobile Games Application Engineer. This is an exciting role that will have you working hands-on to advance our server infrastructure to power a portfolio of real time multiplayer games embedded in the latest mobile and web application platforms. By guiding another engineer and collaborating with external game developers, your team will help define the next generation of game workflow and technologies that millions of mobile gamers will depend on

Our client is a stable and profitable mobile company about to launch a portfolio of exciting next-generation social mobile apps for iPhone and Android. This job is a great way to join a dynamic, experienced team and work on red-hot mobile products.

 Requirements

  • Required Skills:

    • 3+ years of professional application engineering experience
    • 3+ years server development using tools such as JBoss, WebSphere or Apache Tomcat (preferred)
    • 3+ years Socket server experience
    • Experience with any one or more of the following: Eclipse, Spring Framework, Subversion, Apache HTTPD
    • Experience with server side support of game mechanics
    • Track record of delivering successful consumer products.
    • Sharp troubleshooting faculties, deductive reasoning, and careful attention to detail
    • Experience with software engineering in J2SE or J2EE
    • Experience building server backend software that directly interacts with end users.
    • Experience with server side caching – e.g. Terracotta, ehcache
    • Experience designing both internal and external APIs
    • Knowledge of working with SQL server -- (We do not expect this engineer to write SQL code. We do expect this engineer to understand strengths and limitations of SQL server, and to write good Java layer code to take advantage of SQL server)
    • Experience working on consumer facing products (instead of in-house or enterprise software)
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-starter with a self-managed proactive work style
    • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
    • Able to work independently and in a team environment
    • Desire to engage in extremely challenging assignments

  • Desired Skills:

    • · BS in Computer Science or Computer System Engineering
      • · Experience leading a team of 2 or 3 on a short term projects
        • · Development of applications and games that can be demonstrated
        • · HTML or HTML5 experience
        • · Socket based communication
        • · Integrating Static or Video based Ad Servers
        • · Experience working with projects or clients in the mobile/gaming industry
        • · Experience designing Mobile sites (online and WAP platforms)
      • · Able to lead by example - excites and inspires fellow designers to create amazing work
      • · Knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) or Mac productivity software (Pages, Keynote, etc.) preferred
