Global pharma industry leader seeks experienced Drug Safety MD

Our client, the world’s premier pharmaceutical company within their specialty, is looking for an experienced drug safety MD to lead coordination of global and local product safety initiatives and provide medical expertise to all areas of the company.  The position is based at the company’s headquarters in Texas and reports directly to the Head of Drug Safety.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high level medical expertise for safety evaluation and risk management of Pharmaceutical/Consumer products at all stages of development (Phase I - IV).
• Ensure that the safety data is medically evaluated and put into context allowing for the underpinning of the team’s risk management initiatives.
• Coordinate global and local product safety initiatives and provide proactive safety issue assessment/management for Pharmaceutical/Consumer products.

Requirements:

• MD required, preferably board-certified with active US medical license
• 5-7 years clinical or other related experience, knowledge of the clinical development process and  pharmacovigilance regulations, experience with evaluation of complex safety signals, knowledge of or formal training within epidemiology

Our client is offering a base salary in the area of 150-160K with a target bonus and other incentives.  There is also a full relocation package and excellent medical, dental, and vision benefits.
