Datamax of Texas is one of seven independent divisions of privately-owned, St. Louis-based Sumner Group, Inc. Founded in 1955 as A.B. Dick Products of St. Louis, the company established its presence as a leader in the mimeograph, offset press and supply arenas. Shortly thereafter, the company expanded into the reprographics market with the introduction of electrostatic technology in 1960. In subsequent years, success in the St. Louis offices fostered the expansion of Datamax into other markets, including Little Rock, Arkansas and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

In February of 1990, Datamax was invited by Canon to open as an authorized technology provider in the D/FW Metroplex based on its reputation of service excellence. Sales Representative

We are looking for B2B Outside Sales Professionals - Imaging Consultants to sell Imaging and Information Technology Solutions within a target account unit of 250 strategic accounts and 150 flex accounts as well as to locate additional target accounts in which to present Imaging and Information Technology Solutions within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Datamax of Texas provides a database (CRM) in which the targeted account unit of accounts' information is readily accessible. Appointments are scheduled over the phone, and conducted at the client's location.

A typical sales cycle might include:

  • setting the initial meeting
  • gaining an understanding of the client's current business environment - both generally and specifically from an Imaging and Information Technology standpoint
  • uncovering opportunities
  • qualifying needs
  • conducting a site survey
  • demonstrating solutions
  • proposing solutions
  • re-qualifying needs and addressing objections
  • closing
  • ensuring customer satisfaction


We are looking for committed Sales Professionals to work out of Datamax's Coppell, TX location. Each Imaging Consultant has access to sales training, Imaging Technology training and Information Technology training on a continuous basis.

Datamax’s Imaging Consultants have access to technical expertise, in addition to Area Sales Managers, both internally and out in the field.

job Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of successful business-to-business outside sales experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • The commitment to locate and develop new Target Accounts
  • Strong competitive spirit
  • Exposure to a digital office environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of Canon and/or Konica Minolta products, services, and reputation is a plus
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Adobe, CRM, Database, etc.)
  • Knowledge of information technology networking is a great asset to this position
