Software Engineer - Security Clearance

Job Description 

Yoh has a contract opening for a Software Engineer to join our customer, a CMMI Level 3 organization, in Rochester, NY.

 

Responsibilities:

Applicant will be responsible for developing and integrating embedded software for wideband networking waveforms and video based applications on a small form factor platform. A strong background in networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP. IP v4, etc.), network security protocols (IPSec. HAIPE, etc.), and wireless networking is required.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Develop project plans, technical oversight, design, implement, test, and maintain embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio for wideband applications (e.g. video).
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Execute software development process in CMMI Level 3 environment.
  • Perform coding and unit test of resultant software/firmware.
  • Perform software/firmware component integration.
  • Participate and lead peer reviews.
  • Identify track and repair defects.
 


Job Requirements 

Applicant requires the following:

  • Application of the principles and techniques of computer engineering, electrical engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Ability to analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Ability to consults with RF and Digital electrical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software/firmware, and operational performance requirements of the overall system.
  • BSEE, BSCE required with a minimum of 7 years industry experience.
  • Proficiency with C/C++ programming language and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) required.
  • Proficiency with multi-threaded design and/or real-time operating systems is required.
  • Experience with flash file systems, XML, networking protocols and/or Ethernet switching.
  • Knowledge of C/C++, IP Networking and Wireless Networking
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
