Yoh IT has a contract opening for a Technical Project Manager to join our customer in Secaucus, NJ.
Job Duties:
- The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects projects using planning, monitoring and controlling processes. The Project Manager is responsible for coordination and completion of the projects and to this end will perform a variety of tasks including setting deadlines, coordinating the tasks and milestones set by the client, active risk management, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of the project.
- Work with the leads in planning the project execution path within the constraints of time and scope.
- Schedule, assign and monitor tasks, deadlines and milestones for all stakeholders and resources, following established project management methodologies. (SCRUM) • Create project management deliverables to track efforts, key internal and external milestones and schedule.
- Identify and proactively manage the project schedule, resource and technology uncertainties and risks.
- Coordinate a team of project engineers and resources in a matrixed organization working on the project.
- Communicate project updates per the communication plan to key internal and external stakeholders (spread geographically) to provide project updates on activities and deliverables, as well as risks and mitigation strategies
- Efficiently and competently manage scope-creep, changed requirements and missed deadlines through change management, risk management and control processes established.
- Intimately understand the requirements of the project and ensure that the deliverables adhere to the specifications
- Test and Validate deliverables prepared by the team to make sure the work meets requirements and maintains a high level of quality
- Once requirements are in change control, manage any scope increases through change requests.
- Without necessarily being an expert, the Project Manager should make an effort to understand the technology being used in order to understand and question requests coming from specialists and technical staff and to evaluate what is reasonable or possible.
- The Project Manager should be capable of defining acceptance criteria or working with specialists to define acceptance criteria for project deliverables and will works towards achieving stakeholder acceptance of deliverables.
- The Project Manager should identify, log, analyze and manage potential and actual issues and risks, taking corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues head on and reviewing how more serious issues and risks might impact on scope, schedule, quality and cost.
- Define and manage overall project risk identification and mitigation process through interaction with project constituents and stakeholders.
- Actively maintain project documentation on the shared repository project plans, requirement definition, task allocation, risks mitigation strategies, test plans and system design documents.
- Experience with Project Management methodologies
- Hands-on experience with coordinating and executing on Web-based project implementations and systems integration projects
- 5+ years proven experience managing or overseeing technology projects with cross-functional, matrixed staff (including vendors) with high integration across multiple lines of business and technical discipline.
- 5+ years experience managing multiple phases or multiple projects using a structured project management methodology, delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects (over time).
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with clients, stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Ability to organize and work effectively with project teams of staff from department and clients participating in this effort
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and to be able to translate complex concepts into clear and concise information
- Microsoft Project and Project Server
- Daptiv PPM6 a plus
- Experience with Agile development methodologies; short development iterations
