Assistant Controller

Los Angeles, CA

$140-$170K plus bonus and stock

Leading publicly-traded global software company with operations in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

 

Based in our Los Angeles, California headquarters, we have an immediate need for an Assistant Controller.

We are targeting local candidates with a strong technical accounting background including experience with SEC reporting. A CPA license is required as is a strong track record with month end close, consolidated financial statement preparation, and staff management/development.
 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the corporate accounting and financial reporting department. Oversee the month-end close and Company consolidations for 4 entities. Monitor monthly bank reconciliation & intercompany accounts. Analyze and implement new accounting standards.

 

  • Supervise 5 accountants and 2-3 clerks. 

 

  •  Review and analyze Consolidated Financial Statements and prepare Statement of Cashflow.

 

  • Prepare quarterly 10-Q for SEC filings.

 

  • Design year-end 10K reporting package.

 

  • Prepare quarter-end comparative financial statements for News Release. Prepare Form 10-K for SEC filing.

 

  • Coordinate with outside auditors for year-end audit and quarterly reviews.

 

  • Supervise the year-end confirmation requests, and coordinate with third-party responses.

 

  • Prepare year-end financial statements and related footnotes for annual report.

 

  • Coordinate business plan preparation and mid-year forecast for Corporate Office expenses.

 

  • Provide guidance in company wide Plan & Mid-Year Review process including database maintenance.

 

  • Provide guidance to operating units regarding payroll conversion, general ledger interfacing process with payroll and Fixed Asset System.

 

  • Provide guidance to operating units regarding financial statement preparations, and accounting practices.

 

  • Prepare memorandums documenting the Company’s position on relevant accounting matters, as necessary.

 

  • Perform periodic Balance Sheet reviews at operating units.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements

  

Requirements 

                An undergraduate degree in accounting and a licensed CPA

                Open on years of financial experience with at least 3 years in Public Accounting

                Recent SEC reporting experience

                Experienced in managing and developing teams Developing Direct Reports

                Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

                Big 4 experience a plus

                Oracle experience a plus

                Demonstrated analytical skills
