Job Description

Primary Purpose:
As an Academy, we recognize that learning is a lifelong process – and learning to drive is no exception We are looking for people who want to be more than just a driving instructor who focuses on getting young people through the test. We are looking for instructor-coaches; people with a passion to teach driving in our innovative, holistic way. Our ideal candidate will: •give 100% dedication to each and every student’s success; providing them a broad, well-rounded start to their driving future •will share Mercedes-Benz goal to create drivers who are better equipped – technically and emotionally – for a lifetime of safe, enjoyable driving. •be at the forefront of the latest educational techniques. Job requires flexible hours/work schedule such as evenings, weekends, and holidays.  No travel required.


Responsibilities:    
Deliver behind-the-wheel training according to Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy’s integrated approach (combining theory and practice), and with strong compliance to the Academy’s coaching philosophy to ensure maximum absorption of learning points. Provide structured feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate training records. Achieve individual sales targets.


Represent MBDA at related events such as school presentations, conferences, and other partnership opportunities. Build relationships with potential stakeholders to increase visibility for MBDA. Understand and reinforce Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy and Mercedes-Benz brand values and personality. 
 

Work with Driving Coach Supervisor to develop individual strategies for communication and business generation, while actively supporting all marketing and sales strategies, and integrating best practices in the day-to-day business within area of operation.

Participate in train-the-trainer sessions and team meetings to ensure the quality and methods of teaching, including accurate delivery of curriculum messages and learning objectives, are consistent throughout the team. 
 

Assist in planning and development of new courses/curriculum. Stay apprised of current competitive driving school environment and details regarding specific competitors. 


Ensure all safety procedures are followed on site at Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy and that respect for
the safety and well being of guests and colleagues is demonstrated at all times. Be fully familiar with emergency procedures and responsibilities

Job Requirements

Requirements and Conditions:
Must be able to work flexible hours/work schedule


Requires valid driver’s license


Travel domestically


Travel internationally


Work Holidays as scheduled


Work weekends as scheduled


Education Required:
 (accredited school) or equivalent work experience
 
 
This job also requires the applicant's to have the following Licenses / Certifications
• DMV-certified driving instructor (State of California) preferred


• Min. 1 year experience in driving instruction field preferred


• Full driving privileges, clean LiveScan/DoJ record


Knowledge/Experience Required:
Must have 1 - 3 years (total) of experience in the following:
Administration: Knowledge of administrative procedures, process/project development, and system procedures.


Automotive - Technical: Knowledge of automotive technical information systems and repair/diagnostic procedures.


Business - General: Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization.


Education: Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, including adult learning theory, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.


Market Research: Knowledge of market research sources, data analysis techniques and methodology from various research tools.


Public Relations: Knowledge of principles of effective communications, mass media, publicity, advertising, and community relations.


Quality Assurance: Knowledge of accounting standards, statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability.


Sales: Knowledge of selling processes, procedures and techniques used by the industry to create a positive customer experience and encourage repeat business.
