Credit Union Indirect Lending Supervisor

Western is seeking a supervisor for the Indirect Lending Department to assist in planning, directing, and controlling the daily indirect lending functions of the Credit Union as well as the growth of the indirect dealer network.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Assists the manager with overseeing staff to ensure optimum support and achievement of indirect lending goals.
  • Assists in developing tactics to increase the penetration of the indirect auto market including, but not limited to, contacting dealers who do not currently participate in the program, and fostering relations with those who do.
  • Performs funding analysis to ensure all timeframes for indirect loan activities are being met or exceeded. 
  • Monitors buy-rate participation contracts and ensures charge-backs are performed as appropriate.Implements ongoing program improvements, including but not limited to, recommending and implementing methods to streamline processes.Reviews and prepares indirect loan performance analyses and activity reports.Performs duties of Indirect Loan Processor and Officer as needed.
  • Develops and implements on-going training programs for staff.
  • Performs quality control review of indirect lending files to ensure quality and that indirect lending polices are followed.
  • Reviews and monitors call volume and quality to foster dealer relationships, as well as handling escalated calls.
  • Assists in ensuring that the department's needs are met in regard to the employment, counseling, performance evaluations, training, motivation, and discipline of assigned employees.

Job Requirements

Requirements include:
  • Three years experience in a lending environment, preferably in a credit union and one year supervisory/managerial experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations
  • Effective computer skills including Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel), and other lending-related software programs
  • Analytical skills (i.e. ability to compute formulas, ratios, etc.), effective research and problem-resolution skills and abilities
  • A broad knowledge of Credit Union laws and regulations
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals and groups
