Manager of Engineering Services
(Facilities Management 3)
The individual hired into this position will be responsible to: Manage the work of 34 registered Professionals and support personnel providing consulting engineering services to serve the needs of the Office of Physical Plant as well as the academic, research and administrative functions of the University. Represent the University as a Registered Professional Engineer in applications for permits and certifications for governmental agencies. Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff. Manage and oversee the development of utility master plans tor all campus locations. Negotiate Rights of Ways and/or agreements with utility companies, corporations, governmental agencies and individuals. Develop scope documents for proposed projects, including the proposed utility connection points and building MEP systems. Oversee design review process for renovations and major construction projects. Prepare/oversee various environmental impact statements, reports, and permit applications. Coordinate the provision of consultation services for the engineering, maintenance and operations of the University's utility and building mechanical and electrical systems. Manage energy program activities including education, data collection, procurement and energy conservation initiatives. Represent the University on various community committees and groups. Oversee utility mapping and GIS initiatives. Administer and oversee the improvement of the OPP Design and Construction Standards. Support University initiatives to practice environmental stewardship and work toward campus sustainability.
Typically requires a Master's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Management or related discipline plus ten years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires PE license. This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
