Establish network standards, analyze and resolve complex network related problems, up to and including Level 3, and analyze and test all elements of the network infrastructure. Design secure global networks and establish standards based on business objectives.
Define network business requirements and implement effective global network strategies.
Designs secure network solutions that maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the company.
Coordinates with multiple vendors/departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services.
Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies, and performance issues.
Create and share roadmap and technical support to determine network business needs throughout the company.
Evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements specific network solutions.
Research emerging network technologies and make recommendations based on future business needs.
Schedules and coordinates installation and maintenance of standard software/hardware on the network and ensures compatibility of all communications and computer Hardware/software.
Provides ongoing information to management, customers, and peers regarding health of the environment, enhancements, innovations and secure network solutions.
Designs and manages global DMZ infrastructure.
Monitors network to ensure its availability to all users.
Observes and controls the status and performance of all components of network facilities.
Identifies, diagnoses and resolves problems of limited scope and complexity.
Alerts more experienced engineers of network failures and assists in performing corrective actions.
Basic understanding of network administration as it relates to daily business operations.
Assists senior level network engineers to analyze and provide innovative solutions to network engineering and design projects.
May provide some assistance to entry level network engineers.
Knowledge and Skills
Understands fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to network administration.
Basic knowledge of network performance and troubleshooting techniques.
Basic knowledge of network related hardware and software.
Understands basic concepts of network administration.
General understanding of security issues and implications to network solutions.
1- 5 years of professional experience (1 – 2 years directly related to I/T or functional area) or equivalent combination of education/experience.
