The Marketing department is looking for a highly skilled, front-end Web Developer who is responsible for producing and maintaining user-friendly, functional, data-driven Web sites that reflect Shift4’s corporate and brand identities. This position will tackle big and little projects that span the entire spectrum of front-end development (e.g., Web sites, HTML e-mails, landing pages, etc.), working both independently and in a team-based environment. While the primary focus will be on front-end technologies, the ability to work with server-side programming using ColdFusion is greatly desired.
The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic interest in Web-site programming and technology with an aptitude for problem solving and meticulous attention to detail. This includes the development of Web sites using the latest standards, testing them on various browsers (including mobile), and enhancing and modifying them as necessary to ensure the best experience for the end-user. The candidate for the Marketing Web Developer position must be an expert in using the dynamic programming tools and languages required to achieve these objectives. The candidate must have an in-depth understanding of the Web development lifecycle and be able to communicate project statuses, issues, and resolutions, while maintaining a flexible and team-oriented attitude.
- Develop and maintain all company Web sites, Web applications, and HTML e-mails while ensuring strong optimization, cross-browser compatibility (including mobile), and functionality
- Convert designs into complex user interfaces using interface technologies such as ColdFusion, HTML, XML, CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript
- Work closely with the design team to develop and organize innovative site maps, architecture, and interaction flows for Sales, Marketing, and Development strategies
- Be highly conversant in digital media and best-practice experience for Web sites, e-mail, and mobile content delivery
- Analyze, review, and modify Web applications by maintaining, documenting, testing, developing, and monitoring
- Continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new Web technologies as they emerge
- Participate as an active member of a small, experienced, energetic Marketing department on a fast-paced development schedule
- Assist in search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Expert in using the dynamic programming tools and languages required to complete various corporate Web site and Internet application initiatives with the ability to apply best practices, working methodologies, and processes
- Ability to write raw (non-WYSIWYG), table-free and syntactic HTML/CSS markup
- Strong debugging skills and knowledge of cross-browser/platform compatibility (including mobile)
- Proficient in HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL
- Ability to integrate Javascript frameworks such as jQuery, and jQuery UI
- Knowledge of and/or experience with server-side scripting in ColdFusion is required
- Knowledge of other languages such as PHP or ASP.NET is a plus
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand

Education and Experience
- BS in Computer Science (preferred), other information technology-related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience with HTML, XML, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL Server, and ColdFusion desired
- Experience in e-commerce and/or in the card payment industry desired
