 Description

Looking to work for a start-up but also have stability?  Our client is ranked on the Wall Street Journal’s 2012 Top 50 Venture-Backed Companies.   Looking for a Senior Java Developer to be part of our Core Team, tasked with implementing new functionality and maintaining existing J2EE Applications. This position requires a proven ability to understand and implement business requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing systems in an Agile environment. Additionally, the candidate must exhibit the ability to analyze and debug new and existing software systems.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Java Developer:

  • Implement scalable software systems that meet the business requirements within the design set prepared by the Managing Architect

  • Participate in code reviews

  • Maintain existing software systems

  • Participate in the design and development of new and existing software solutions

 Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements of the Senior Java Developer:

  • 5+ years work experience with Java and J2EE technologies

  • Minimum 2 years experience with AJAX presentation technologies

  • Proficiency with the following technologies - JSP, XML, SQL, SQL Server, common J2EE App Server

  • Extensive knowledge of JavaScript and CSS

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is required

  • Strong knowledge of the SDLC process and the ability to manage/promote it

  • Familiarity with n-Tier software architectures

  • Ability to debug and resolve difficult technical problems

  • Demonstrable experience with Java Application Servers such as WebLogic and Tomcat

  • Ability to determine the feasibility of projects in a fast paced deadline driven environment

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to anticipate problems proactively and take appropriate actions to mitigate negative impact

  • Exposure to iterative and incremental agile software development methodology is a plus.

 

This is a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients in Durham, NC. The salary range is expected to be $80,000 - $100,000. A local candidate is strongly preferred. No sponsorship available.
