Description Exactech, Inc. is an orthopaedic company that develops, manufactures, markets, distributes and sells orthopaedic implant devices, related surgical instrumentation and biologic services to hospitals and physicians in the United States and internationally.

1. Create facility and workflow layouts that optimize the usage of materials, machinery, and personnel in a production in environment with the objectives of improving efficiency, reducing WIP, and freeing up floor space
2. Identify and implement process improvements to meet and exceed quality and on-time delivery of products
3. Propose cost reduction ideas and calculate/track actual savings
4. Determine process routings, perform time studies, establishes machine rates
5. Collaborate with production and planning to create capacity models for short and long range planning
6. Create, track and report weekly metrics pertaining to production performance
7. Investigate cost variances, determine and execute necessary corrective / preventative actions as required
8. Know and apply the Quality System regulations and any appropriate Federal and International standards.
9. Assist and support other, teams and sales personnel as necessary.

 

Requirements

Education 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience in the medical device industry

Experience 
• Minimum of 5 years in a production / manufacturing process oriented environment is required

Other 
• Must be skilled in the use of Lean Manufacturing concepts, such as Value Stream Mapping, or other continuous improvement experience is required.
• Must be highly skilled in the creation and design of current and future state shop workflows and facility layouts in a CAD environment.  UG experience preferred.
• Must be capable of creating capacity models that will facilitate product and people movement decisions.  As well as provide information necessary to determine future expansion / bottleneck needs.
• Must have project management experience.  MS project (Gantt charts) experience preferred.
• Must be organized and detailed oriented
• Must have the ability to work in a team oriented environment
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and or projects
• Must be energetic, self-motivated and have a great attitude
• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Experience in production management is preferred
