Reporting to the Lab and Technical Services Manager, the High Power Lab Engineer is responsible for providing High Power/Surge Lab services to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include:

Managing the Engineering Test Request data base.
Minimizing circuit change-over by organizing submitted test requests. Assigning submitted test requests to lab technicians.
Compiling test data for the test request.
Providing timely feedback to the requestor.
Inspecting/replacing closing switches, generator oil, and resistor banks.
Scheduling Third-Party agencies to witness testing.
Scheduling calibration events.
Becoming well versed in standards (UL248, UL4248).
Ensuring circuit set-up meets UL standards.
Possessing a complete understanding of high power lab equipment and testing capabilities.
Participating in design verification/validation programs.
Evaluating product or application issues.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
0-3 years experience in electrical industry
Good problem solving and research skills
Project management experience required
Computer word processing and spreadsheet experience required
Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Good written and oral communication skills
Results oriented
Team player
Good organizational skills
Good listener that can adapt to the customer audience
Experience designing Electrical or Electro-mechanical components a plus
Experience with UL or equivalent approval-type agencies a plus
