Clinical Specialist - Home Health
Summary of Clinical Specialist
We are currently looking for a Clinical Specialist to serve as a resource to enhance overall clinical development, growth and excellence of service delivery within a DM area. Works under the direction of the DM and with the support of the Clinical Director. Functions as a training clinician an average of 50% of their time.
Duties of this position include following, in accordance with established policies and therapy standards:

Provides in-servicing and implements alternate service-delivery strategies and other cost-effective treatment techniques

Assesses overall clinical functions of facilities and makes recommendations for clinical enhancement through hands-on service delivery, interactive training or targeted observation
-
With DM develops a clinical strategic plan for the district
-
Working with the DM develops a weekly and monthly schedule that is aligned with the district clinical strategic plan and reports on the outcomes
-
Assists with implementation of clinical programs and correction plans as related to clinical opportunities
-
Provides relief coverage in designated areas
-
Assists in coordinating and developing FMPs, restorative programming and Tran-disciplinary clinical programming with therapy managers in assigned facilities
-
Assists DM with denial prevention and appeal process
-
Adheres to code of conduct, policies and procedures according to company, Medicare, Medicaid and VA requirements
-
Assists with clinical orientation and development of therapists
-
Serves as a leader and role model for customer service
Clinical Specialist
Requirements of Clinical Specialist
Candidates for the Clinical Specialist position should meet the following requirements:
-
Graduate from an accredited program and licensed as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist
-
Current license in the state of practice as required
-
Must have 3-5 years experience using Tran-disciplinary approach
-
Demonstrates proficiency in documentation for all payer sources and regulatory requirements
-
Must demonstrate clinical excellence as evidenced by positive clinical outcomes
-
Must demonstrate good time management and organizational skills
-
Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time without compromising deadlines
-
Must demonstrate an ability to lead by example, train through doing and possess mentoring capabilities
-
Must posses working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications and electronic communications
-
Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
-
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
-
Must have own transportation to travel between sites as needed
-
Must be able to travel with overnight stays
-
Possess problem-solving skills.
-
Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with patients, patient’s family members and the facility staff.

Must meet Clinical Competency requirements
-
Must meet all local health regulations; pass post-offer drug test, and post-offer employment physical exam if required.
