Job Description:

 

Looking for a mechanical engineer that is capable of performing in a leadership role as a lead engineer, while also providing engineering design, and implementation support for large nuclear projects.  This individual must be able to learn quickly and have prior nuclear experience including mechanical flow diagrams, piping drawings, general arrangement drawings, Updated Final Safety Analysis Report, and Technical Specifications for nuclear plants.  This individual must have the ability provide leadership in working with a Project Manager to scope, schedule, and complete multi-discipline projects.

Provides studies and cost/benefit analysis of solutions and determines appropriate procurement specifications for services and equipment associated with nuclear station modifications.

Prepare technical scopes of work, correspondence, and documentation that support effective design, development, and implementation of nuclear station engineering change packages.

Ensures accomplishment of team goals through effective design, development, and implementation of large nuclear engineering changes.

Effectively interface with nuclear station staff and management to ensure successful design, development, and implementation of nuclear engineering changes.


Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

4 year degree from accredited university in Mechanical Engineering.

Ability to obtain unescorted access to nuclear facilities.  

Demonstrated ability to effectively design, develop, and implement nuclear engineering change packages.

Working knowledge of nuclear station systems, processes, and procedures.

Demonstrated effective written communications including technical writing skills.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and communication skills.

Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office products.

Demonstrated organizational/planning skills with ability to set work priorities.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and work within established organizational and work execution rules and processes.

Demonstrated problem solving and analysis skills, including thermodynamics, fluid flow, and heat transfer.

Professional engineering license

Nuclear station on-site experience.

Previous experience in performing 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations

Experience with Main Generator/Turbine upgrades, Measurement Uncertainty Recapture, or other power up-rate projects.

Experience in performing thermal hydraulic performance analysis for secondary balance of plant.
