Job Description
The Shaw Group provides premier engineering, design, construction, and maintenance services to government and private-sector clients in a wide array of industries, including the energy, environmental, infrastructure, and emergency response markets.
Summary:
As member of the Electrical Group for nuclear projects, responsibilities will be to perform a variety of engineering and design assignments, and support procurement and construction activities for Nuclear Security Systems. The candidate should have experience with security system equipment and arrangements, fiber optic cables, cyber-security and 70CFR73.55 requirements. Significant experience in electrical distribution, equipment sizing, and systems design will be required in addition to knowledge of nuclear security regulations and applications. Demonstrates knowledge of nuclear power plant Electrical systems and engineering with the ability to plan, organize and prepare modifications to support plant requirements. Independently evaluates, selects and uses standards, techniques, procedures and criteria for technical projects.
Requires Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. Active pursuit of professional registration or certification is expected. Experience with design and operation of multiple plant systems is required. 9-15 years experience in the nuclear field with experience in the design of security systems. Must have demonstrated technical competence in nuclear plant engineering and design, and be familiar with applicable codes as well as NRC regulations.
Field experience on a nuclear plant project. Knowledge of design change procedures and field modification procedures. Work typically performed in an office environment, with visits to customer industrial facilities to be expected.
