General duties:
- Seeking medical assistants with at least 3 years in the field to teach medical assisting courses in fast-paced training program. Excellent communication skills, a desire to teach others and exemplary professionalism are a must. Candidates with supervisory experience and/or CMA certification preferred.
- Maintain a teaching assignment for class.
- Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided, to assure course content and objectives are met.
- Distribute a copy of the class calendar to all students at first class meeting.
- Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
- Design, administer and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives as identified in the syllabus.
- Actively work to maintain retention in all classes taught, by maintaining accurate attendance records daily, calling all students who are absent, and recording absentee information in roster after each class meeting and communicating attendance 'concerns' to the Program Chair or Academic Dean.
- Be available to advise students, tutor and provide other assistance as needed.
Job Requirements
- Three years experience in the Clinical Field.
- Excellent customer service, organizational and motivational skills also essential.
- Teaching experience a plus, but not required, will train.
