 WELL CONSTRUCTION GROUP

 SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER

 

 

REPORTING:                        Well Operations Manager

  

DEPARTMENT:                    Operations

  

LOCATION:                          Houston.

 

BASIC FUNCTION

Analyzes client’s well design and well construction projects including Surface BOP projects to assure company policies are in compliance while providing high level technical solutions and support for the clients drilling programs execution.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  

1.             Analyze client’s drilling projects by reviewing their proposed well design to assure company policy are in compliance and recommend client’s projects execution.

 

2.             Examine client’s well construction progress by reviewing daily drilling reports to assure the proposed well design is been executed properly providing technical solutions when necessary.

 

3.             Examine client’s non standard operations/projects (e.g. managed pressure drilling, surface BOPs, HPHT) by reviewing the proposed well design to assure the company policy is in compliance and recommend client’s project execution.

 

4.             Identify well design, well construction and well control problems by following corporate worldwide operations to recommend technical solutions.

 

5.             Assist in QRA (Quantitative Risk Assessment) preparation by providing technical advice on well design and well construction issues.

 

6.             Search, collect and update well design and well construction technical information by contacting leading engineering services companies / suppliers to provide Corporate Operations Department with the latest drilling technology.

 

7.             Provide assistance to the Well Operations Manager to update corporate manuals and company policies.

 

8.             Support in house and client specified technology and well construction projects.

 

9.             Provide support for well control and well Construction based in house training.

 

 

 

 

 


job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Science engineering degree. Training in Drilling Engineering, Drilling practices, and Well Control is required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 8 years, including 2 years rig site drilling and well construction in shallow and deepwater environments.

 

SKILLS:

Knowledgeable on operating computer systems (Windows), spreadsheet, word processing, MS Power Point and drilling engineering programs. Highly knowledgeable on Offshore Drilling Procedures and Practices, Drilling Engineering and Well Control Operations. Writing and verbal communication skills, including ability in preparation and delivery customer presentations.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Job requires to work with others as a team and to communicate well with people at different levels sharing information and experiences with others while listening to and understanding their points of view. Self-motivated, highly organized, capable to travel worldwide.

 

BUDGETS:

Responsible when necessary for preparing and supervise AFE.

 

INGENUITY:

The incumbent must be able to analyze and provide independently technical solutions using it’s own know how based on the latest drilling technology available and it’s own experience to all well design and well construction issues in a timely manner.

 

DECISION MAKING:

Job requires employee to make decisions about his/her work and to work independently, communicating decisions to his / her supervisor.
