Description
Johnson College is seeking a Program Coordinator/Instructor to lead its newly formed Weatherization Training Center. The Weatherization Training Center will provide certified weatherization training to individuals who will be working on energy reduction, conservation and weatherization activities. This position will be twofold: 1. Instruction of weatherization training to students learning to become weatherization installers, crew chiefs and auditors 2. Manage the Center’s day to day operations. Additional duties will include:
- Promote and market the Weatherization Training Center
- Provide orientation sessions to interested individuals at PA CareerLinks
- Screen and enroll students
- Schedule classes and hire other instructors as needed
- Process all payments/vouchers
- Complete and submit monthly and quarterly reports as required.
Instructors for this program require certification by the state. If the person in this position does not meet the state's full criteria, accelerated training may be required.

Requirements
Qualified candidates will have all or most of these qualifications.
- Five years hands on experience working in the residential construction field
- Weatherization experience as an installer, technician or project manager
- General knowledge of construction techniques, including basic carpentry skills, insulation and installation, weather sealing, test equipment knowledge, basic hand tools.
- Supervisory Experience in Construction Trades (minimum of one year)
- As Associates Degree or higher is highly desirable
- Post Secondary training in Building Science, Sustainability, and/or Building Trades and/or Construction Management.
- Private home performance contractor field experience (minimum of one year-verifiable)
- Knowledge or experience with residential HVAC
- Experience developing and managing a budget
- Ability to manage all purchasing of equipment and supplies
- Experience which demonstrates the ability to be an instructor for weatherization courses
- Ability to repair basic construction equipment as needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills·
- Desktop computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to travel within the NEPA 12 county region for recruitment activities and the ability to make periodic overnight trips out of the region.
