Description
Summary Directs warehousing activities for organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current; Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment; Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing; Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
Participates and works with Safety Coordinator in planning personnel safety and warehouse and yard protection activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages employees in the Warehouse, Yard, including Truck Drivers; Must work with purchasing; Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience
Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with logistical skills.
Language Skills
Has the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively before groups of supervisors and/or employees of organization; Bilingual helpful but not necessary
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ha the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and give instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn Maxwell Accounting software; Basic internet skills Internet software; have knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
