Sysco is adding to its sales team and is looking for professionals with a desire to work in foodservice sales. This position will be located in the Bristol/Southwest, VA/East, TN area and only applicants that are currently located in that area should apply. Duties: As a Marketing Associate you will be responsible for creating partnershps with our customers resulting in maximizing sales and profit for both Sysco and the customers we support. You must project the professional image of our company to existing, prospective and newly acquired customers through the following tasks:
•Participation in the Sysco Knoxville training program. For up to eight weeks you will be at our Knoxville, TN facility receiving a combination of hands on and classroom training (will require overnight travel if you are located outside of the Knoxville area).
•Serve as a back up to Marketing Associates within your district in preparation of taking over your own territory.
•Plan sales calls and strategies to meet objectives. This includes keeping abreast of current market trends, ensuring maximum gross profit margins and entering and monitoring orders through data entry systems.
•Collect accounts receivable from customers, deposit collections, communicate with Credit Department (regarding clearing customer and credit issues), and follow organizational guidelines.
•Provide menu analysis and produce menu revisions on Menu Pro for the customer,
•Build rapport and customer confidence in Sysco representatives and the company, and
•Communicate with and utilize all internal support systems, people and technology to help our customers succeed. (I.e. phone mail messages are picked up and returned promptly, develop an effective relationship with drivers in the respective territories, use of e-mail etc.).
