Psychiatrist - Full Time, Part Time or Per-Diem

The Psychiatrist will provide high quality appropriate psychiatric services to patients. The Psychiatrist will be involved in providing evaluations, consultations, and treatment of psychiatric patients in all settings including but not limited to our Medication Clinic, Crisis Stabilization Units, in-patient / out-patient and residential clients.


Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing direct client care including psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis, and medication maintenance as needed; participates in treatment planning process from initial treatment plan through discharge for assigned cases.
  • Initiating Baker Act proceedings according to Florida law.
  • Appearing in Mental Health court as needed.
  • Coordinating length of stay with managed care companies.
  • Covering for other physicians as needed due to planned or unanticipated need
  • Making appropriate referrals and coordinating medical services with consulting physicians.
  • Reviewing and/or submitting Incident Reports according to Center policy.
  • Continuously updating knowledge relative to client population served, clinical methodology employed and relevant rules and standards

Nurse Practitioner - Full Time, Part Time or Per Diem

 

The Nurse Practitioner is assigned principal responsibility for the primary health care of patients and receives professional medical supervision from a physician. Incumbents of this class function independently function in the care and treatment of patients within the scope of practice defined and agreed to by medicine, nursing and administration.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Psychiatric ARNP to conduct adult outpatient evaluations and medication management at a community mental health center in Palm Beach County.

  • Full time Psychiatric ARNP  to conduct adult outpatient evaluations and medication management at a community mental health center in Palm Beach County.

  • Will be supervised by the Chief Medical Officer.

  • The Nurse Practitioner practices under physician review and confirms health care goals for patients.
  • The Nurse Practitioner remains responsible for the client throughout the course of treatment, provides the physical examination, diagnosis, and health care plan, determines when the client has recovered, and releases the client.
  • The Nurse Practitioner may refer the client to physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment, but retains responsibility for clinical management as well as any subsequent modification.
  • Incumbents may review use and effects of psychotropic drugs and other medications as well as the characteristics of mental and emotional disorders.

Associate Medical Director

The Associate Medical Director will be responsible for the quality of medical and psychiatric care of the in-patient and Crisis Stableization Units; 

  • Provide medication management
  • Psychiatric care, and administrative services
  • Review complicated cases where physical and mental health issues intersect
  • Lead weekly clinical rounds
  • Provide ongoing training and act as a resource to clinical managers regarding new practices
  • Best practices and ongoing changes in mental health

 

 

Requirements Psychiatrist - Full Time, Part Time or Per-Diem

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Board Eligible/Certified Adult Psychiatrist (MD/DO) with active Florida Medical and DEA licenses
  • Graduation from an accredited college of medicine.
  • Minimum three years of psychiatric practice, including extensive work with acutely and chronically psychiatrically disabled individuals, and Crisis Stabilization Unit experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of rules and regulations, governing services provided in a community mental health center.
  • Experience with Joint Commission accreditation preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to adults persons with  

        persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

 

Licenses:

Florida State Physician Certificate authorized by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of Florida.

Nurse Practitioner - Full Time, Part Time or Per Diem

Minimum Requirements:

A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university with a specialty in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing AND completion of an approved Adult, Child, or Family Nurse Practitioner Program -OR- Completion of an approved Master's level Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner's Program issued by an accredited college or university AND Possession of a State-issued medication furnishing number AND A certificate issued by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for writing of prescriptions for psychotropic medication.
 

  • MS in Nursing required.

  • Must have a Florida Nursing license. 

  • Must be licensed as a Psychiatric ARNP in Florida.

  • Must be computer proficient. 

  • Experience with electronic health records a plus.

Associate Medical Director

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to use good problem solving techniques

  • Skilled in co-occurring disorder treatments

  • Able to demonstrate cultural competence and cultural responsiveness

  • Bilingual and child certified, preferred

  • Board Certified or  Board-eligible psychiatrist, required
