Medical Sales Representative

SUMMARY 
The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida is currently seeking a Medical Service Representative to service Polk County.  This is a full-time position that requires previous home health sales or medical sales experience. 

Serves as a liaison between professional staff, community, healthcare facilities, and physicians to promote the development of new business.  Acts as a resource for information to ensure quality care and service for the patient. Markets to and maintains successful relationship with current referral sources including hospitals, physician’s offices, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities for continued support and referrals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Complies with agency policies and procedures.
• Ensures open line of communication and education between the agency, physician and physician's staff and hospital staff.
• Keeps physician profiles current. Provides documentation/information to Director of Nursing, Supervisors and clinical staff to facilitate quality patient care, track referrals, and meet established goals.
• Retrieves signed Physician Change Orders (POC) from physician's offices as requested. Notifies Director of Nursing immediately if there are problems obtaining signed POCs/VOs.
• Participates in staff development activities and in-service meeting as required.
• Represents the agency at all times in a professional and loyal manner.
• Maintains client/patient confidentiality in accordance with Florida Law and the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Performs other duties as assigned 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Requires a college degree with study emphasis in marketing, business, communication, public relations or related field. Suitable experience may substitute. Prefer knowledge of the home health industry and Medicare guidelines for home health.
