Description
We are looking for a Senior Cache Software Engineer with Healthcare Claims Processing experience in IT. The candidate will code, test, develop, and document enhancements to a complex claims processing system. Candidate must be proficient in VA FILEMAN, legacy MUMPS constructs, and CACHE Object Script.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop/modify cache routines/Objects using Cache studio version 2008 on VMS clustered environment
- Develop/Implement technical solutions from business requirements. Work is project oriented. Solutions worked from requirements to design, code, test, configuration, and implementation. Solutions are turned over to client, “Turn Key", in that all supporting documentation is in place at time of implementation.
- Prepare technical design, QA specifications, and code review for VA IT staff.
- Use FILEMAN to modify data structures and for data access
- Adhere to VA programming standards
- Evaluate/strategize existing legacy mump routines to Cache objects
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 10+ years of experience in a healthcare setting developing software utilizing M/Cache Object Script
- 3+ years of experience working with VA fileman, Cache objects and classes, web services, and XML
- Experience working with a VMS operating system and DCL scripts
- Experience with InterSystems Cache Server Pages (CSP)/ZEN, and Ensemble a big plus
- Knowledge OO concepts, Oracle, SQL Sever, java/seam is helpful
- Track record for creating documentation for technical design, requirements, and test plan using Word, Powerpoint, and Viso.
- Software Development Lifecycle experience
- Ability to meet deadlines and project goals
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work independently
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Healthcare Claims Processing knowledge
Requirements
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of healthcare EDI X12 transactions like 837, 835, 270/271, and 276/277.
- Working knowledge of NCPDP pharmacy transactions like B1, B2, E1 and Medicaid Subrogation 3.0.
- Experience with ICD-9 and knowledge of ICD-10 codes.
- Experience with VA Claims Processing System and Vista
