FLEET COORDINATOR

 

The District Attorney is responsible for prosecuting crimes within the county’s borders. To do this, the Office of the Bronx District Attorney employs nearly 400 assistant district attorneys and more than 400 support staff, including stenographers, crime victims advocates and computer technicians. All office personnel are assigned to the Executive Staff, a prosecutorial department, the Senior Staff, an enforcement unit or a support unit.

 

The Office of the Bronx District Attorney is seeking a Fleet Coordinator who will be responsible for automotive maintenance services and related fleet management work. Specific duties will include:

 

  • Perform light automotive maintenance and upkeep services that may include vehicle inspection, battery service, patching, changing tires, fluid level checking, lubrication, oil change, interior and exterior cleaning and polishing;

  • Obtain and compare estimates for automotive work for approval by Purchasing Director;

  • Register vehicles with Department of Motor Vehicles;

  • Schedule service appointments with auto shops, and may operate vehicles to test repairs, diagnosis problems, and transfer vehicles to and from shops;

  • Maintain and update vehicle service and repair records, using office vehicle database;

  • Assist in evaluating car assignments to different office departments and maintain vehicle database.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED SKILLS:

 

  1. Two years of full-time satisfactory experience performing automotive maintenance services, such as inspection, lubrication and oil changing, acquired in a garage or gasoline service station; OR;

  2. Graduation from an approved trade, vocational or technical high school, in a course of study in automotive maintenance and repair; OR;

  3. A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of approved trade, vocational or technical high school.

 

License Requirement: A Motor Vehicle Driver's license valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

 

Salary: $30,679
