STBTC and Qualtex Laboratories

In the 30 years of service, the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center (STBTC) has been a leading partner in the growth of a vigorous health care industry. STBTC serves over 100 hospitals and clinics in 43 South Texas counties. In addition to recruiting, collecting, processing, testing and distributing blood components, STBTC operates a certified tissue bank, houses the Texas Cord Blood Bank and also serves as a National Marrow Donor Program registration site.

QualTex Laboratories performs the testing services that were formerly performed under the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center name. QualTex Laboratories screens millions of whole blood and plasma donations for infectious agents each year for biotechnology companies locally and across the globe, which requires unique regulatory oversight. QualTex Laboratories, an affiliate of STBTC, is registered as a clinical laboratory provider by both state and federal agencies. Additionally; it is one of the world's largest plasma testing centers.

Telephone Scheduler / Telephone Representative

South Texas Blood & Tissue Center
is seeking goal-oriented

Telephone Scheduler / Telephone Representative

to telerecruit donors & provide clerical support

for the Telerecruitment Department

at our Victoria location.

CLOSING DATE: December 1, 2009


Responsibilities / Expectations of a Telephone Scheduler / Telephone Representative include:
  • Telephone recruit donors within internal database in order to meet or exceed daily quota.
  • Answer telephones, take messages and direct incoming calls.
  • Schedule donors to maintain inventory in order to meet or exceed daily quota.
  • Manage time wisely to ensure efficient and productive telephone contacts.
  • Maintain accurate files on donors and update status on computer.
  • Perform mini history interview and check for donor eligibility on the computer.
  • Maintain and schedule donors to donate in order to fill hospital standing orders and special patient orders.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Perform computer data entry.
  • May perform other tasks as assigned.

    All Candidates Must Be Able To Meet and/or Exceed Goals.

    Schedule:
    Part-Time

    The hours from October to February (4 day work week)

    Monday- Wednesday  12 - 7pm

    Saturday- 9am - 3pm

     

    Hours starting in March (4 day work week)

    Saturday 9am - 3pm

    Sunday 10am - 4pm

    Monday 12 - 7pm

    Wednesday 12 - 7pm

    Requirements for the Telephone Scheduler / Telephone Representative include:
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Some sales, customer service or computer experience is preferred
    • High level of organizational, communication and administrative expertise
    • Previous high volume outbound telephone / telemarketing experience preferred
    • Exceptional telephone manner and customer service skills
    • Superior verbal and written communication
    • Enthusiasm and professionalism
    • Dependability, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, problem solve and follow-through
