Job Description

Summary:
Provide compensation plan analysis design and administration in support of company goals and objectives; including job analysis, competitive market analysis, salary adjustments, salary planning, and job description administration.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Assist management by resolving compensation related issues and act in an advisory capacity to divisions and organizations on significant department-impacting issues or policy changes.
  • Collect and analyze occupational data in order to evaluate proper assignment to pre-determined salary bands
  • Write and edit position descriptions with management input.
  • Provide second-level approval for internal promotions and external hires which fall outside of pre-approved guidelines.
  • Assist in the administration of annual salary planning including the review of proposed merit increases, analyzing and recording variances from plan, and providing management with recommendations and alternatives when necessary.
  • Assist managers with compensation related issues and training programs to enhance understanding of compensation process.

Other Duties:

  • Provide back-up assistance when necessary to Compensation Specialist
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, roundtables and self-study to stay abreast of compensation developments and trends
  • Understand and accurately explain Human Resources-Compensation policies and procedures to management and employees
  • Perform additional duties and project work as assigned by the Director of Compensation
  • Develop, recommend and write compensation procedures

Job Requirements 

Bachelor?s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field

 

5-10 years experience in compensation or equivalent

 

Must possess strong communication, analytical and personal computer skills

 

Experience in the telecommunications industry is strongly preferred

 

Experience with HRIS and market pricing required

 

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access required

 

CCP preferred
