Description

Position:  Trade Marketing Manager

 

The Trade Marketing Manager owns the planning and implementation of all merchandising programs for the digital and consumer electronics portfolio of products.  This role is responsible for all point-of-sale activities within the Americas region and drives all shopper marketing activities in-store and online, as well as consumer insights and marketing research.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Collaborate with the product marketing team to understand the go-to-market strategies and priorities for each product category;
  • Align and collaborate with category management team to understand consumer shopping insights and help develop in-store and/or online shopping requirements for all merchandising deliverables in each product category;
  • Work in partnership with other Trade Marketing Managers to ensure cross-category merchandising effectiveness and cost efficiencies for all retailer and e-tailer programs;
  • Coordinate with the retail marketing team to understand and help define all in-store merchandising assets and deliverables needed for each product category across all retail accounts in the region, helping to project manage the timelines for associated presentations, mockups, approvals, and installation deliverables;
  • Collaborate with regional marcom team to develop creative briefs that align with the communications strategy for each product category, and with the overall corporate brand strategy;
  • Understand each account's merchandising requirements (in-store and/or online) by product category, and overall marketing and consumer shopping requirements;
  • Develop in-store and online merchandising that delivers against the business goals for each project, including revenue and ROI assessments/analytics; and nsure all projects are completed on time and on budget.
Requirements

The key requirements/prerequisites:

  • 5 - 7 years developing in-store merchandising programs for retail consumer products, ideally for consumer packaged goods companies, with direct experience with retailers like Best Buy, Staples, Walmart and Target;
  • 3 – 5 years of online merchandising experience for consumer products, handling the planning and implementation of channel-based programs involving on-site web banners, partner emailers, and other online POS-driven components; ideally some experience working with e-tailers like Amazon, TigerDirect, NewEgg and Buy.com;
  • Solid understanding of retail industry trends and consumer/shopper insights;  most helpful to have experience in both shopper marketing and marcom in CE or CPG companies;
  • Energetic personality and creative orientation, with proven experience managing a large number of projects running concurrently;
  • Strong track record of creating a winning vision in an environment where there is a strong emphasis on merchandising, promotion, and partnerships;
  • Proven success working in a fast paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are complemented by hard-driving promotional activities;
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to help build a marketing infrastructure, including processes, methodologies and tools required to drive marketing effectiveness;
  • Highly-motivated, forward-thinker with excellent conceptual thinking, analytical and communication skills;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing a must;  better if you have a Master’s degree in same;
  • PC literacy with excellent working knowledge of all MS Office applications; ability to also use some of the applications of Adobe CS (Illustrator, PhotoShop, etc.) is desirable
