The Engineering Manager will manage the engineering, maintenance, and metrology efforts for the company. This position will create, maintain and manage the systems by which equipment, instruments, facilities and processes are designed and implemented. This position will also be responsible for procurement of equipment, execution of engineering studies, scale-up of processes and associated resources.
Requirements
* Manage, develop, and recruit the engineering, maintenance, and metrology staff.
* Manage engineering projects which will cover equipment, facilities, utilities and process.
* Determine current engineering needs and plan for future engineering requirements.
* Plan and manage the work load within the department to meet the priorities of multiple customers.
* Serve as an engineering expert for the site.
* Review and approve engineering documentation.
* Manage and/or participate on cross-functional project teams.
* Lead the improvement and implementation of all engineering and related programs.
* Make decisions on highly complex technical issues having short-term and long-term effects on the department and company.
* Manage the continuous engineering improvement process for the equipment, facility, utilities and processes.
* Foster a team based spirit of enthusiasm while being results oriented.
* Provide for and promote staff development.
* Perform other related duties as required.
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
Experience:
10 plus years experience in a manufacturing or processing environment in an FDA-regulated industry performing engineering or engineering related activities.
Language:
Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate instructions and written procedures. Ability to review and revise documents with proficient grammar and spelling skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
Mathematical:
Must be able to perform engineering calculations. Must be able to analyze data using statistical tools. Must be capable of developing capital projects and expense budgets.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Able to analyze data and generate conclusions based upon the data.
Ability to read specifications and determine test plans.
Computer Operations:
Proficient to advanced skills. Must be fluent in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and project management programs. Ability to use Microsoft Access and Microsoft Project, Statistical Programs, such as Minitab and AutoCAD.
Leadership:
Ability to deal confidently and effectively with all subordinates, superiors, and colleagues including vendors and customers at different levels.
Management:
Determine objectives; manage the work of others; manage department within division or department corporate guidelines while using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.
