Description Position:  Director Physician and Ambulatory Systems

 

The Director Physician and Ambulatory Systems directs the activities of all Physician and Ambulatory Systems Analysts and staff.  Responsibilities will include the architecture, design, implementation, maintenance and support of all information systems for Physician Practices and Clinics. 

 

Responsibilities:

§         Plan and manage the selection, implementation and support of Physician Practice Management and EMR systems.

§         Prepare and maintain budgets to ensure that all activities are effectively managed to support the entities they serve.

§         Remain actively involved in the Physician and Office Manager communities to ensure clear two-way communications of needs and plans.

§         Act as key resource and point of contact for all Physician and Ambulatory Care matters.

§         Stay abreast of new industry trends and developments to ensure the organization stays at the forefront of technology.

§         Develop and implement project controls to ensure project developments occur on time and to budget.

§         Recruit, train, mentor, counsel and supervise employees.

Requirements

Skills Requirements: 

§         Knowledge of multiple Physician and Ambulatory Care systems and technical platforms.

§         Knowledge of MS Sharepoint and Project.

§         Time/ project management skills to keep multiple projects on track at the same time.

§         Ability to dynamically change priorities and workflow with no disruption to tasks and projects in progress.

§         Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with management, staff, vendors and physicians.

§         Strong project management skills to plan, estimate, schedule and track all projects to be able to report progress and status to management.

§         Independent decision making capability that could affect critical systems and applications.

§         Exceptional personnel management and mentoring skills to expand the technical and analytical skills of staff and project team members.

 

Background Requirements:

§         Bachelors degree in Business, Information management or related field.

§         At least 10 years supporting, planning and implementing IT projects.

§         At least 3 years in a Physician or Ambulatory healthcare environment.

§         Experience with Epic or GE solutions highly desirable.
