The aircraft components repair supervisor supervises aviation unit, intermediate and limited depot maintenance on aircraft components, aviation communications and other electronic/electrical systems associated with Army and commercial rotary wing aircraft. The individual must be knowledgeable of the duties performed by personnel in the following skills; Aircraft Powerplant Repairer, Aircraft Powertrain Repairer, Aircraft Avionics/Electronics Repairer, Aircraft Electricians, Aircraft Structural Repairer, and Aircraft Pneudraulics Repairer. Other major duties are: Supervises aircraft component and avionics repair and technical inspection activities. Determines man-hours, personnel, parts and facility requirements to repair aircraft components, avionics and associated equipment. Plans aircraft maintenance areas, component and avionics repair shops, and facilities. Instructs subordinates in aircraft component and avionics repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards, and operational policies. Maintains supply economy and discipline. Supervises the component and avionics repair technical training program. Prepares evaluations, special reports and records pertaining to aircraft component repair and related activities. Recommends and administers plans and policies. Aircraft Components Repair Supervisors must possess the following additional qualifications: (a) A physical demands rating, of very heavy. (b) Normal color vision. (c) FAA approved airframe and power plant license required. Formal training and completion of a US Army resident MOS 68K/15K course conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army Aviation School is highly desirable. HIGHLY DESIRED: (a) Fluent in Iraqi Arabic (b) Current certification in Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Work Location: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Successful applicants can expect to operate in austere conditions. Temperatures can vary from high (well over 100F) to freezing and below. Extreme conditions due to dust storms are also common.
