Summary of Purpose: Serves as the incoming point for all referrals received via phone or fax.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Answer incoming call center phones and log patient referral information in accordance with department guidelines.
- Works in close collaboration with reimbursement specialists, physicians and other health care personnel to coordinate the patient’s access to appropriate medication or medical devices.
- Requests medically necessary information to obtain prescriptions and medical devices.
- Inputs data regarding new pharmaceutical clients into database.
- Gathers necessary patient information to assist Reimbursement Specialists with the search for reimbursement sources.
- Provides administrative support to the call center staff by retrieving faxes, copying information, filing and retrieving data and responding to other needs as requested.

Minimum Education Required:
Minimum Experience Required:
- 1-3 years experience in a health insurance company, home health company, physician billing office, or other similar service oriented business.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required (except where noted as preferred):
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work in a team oriented environment.
- Knowledge of health care reimbursement and distribution system preferred.
- Successful applicants will be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Mostly sedentary work.
- Ability to correctly input data into the computer.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers whether in person, on the telephone, or through written correspondence.
Environment: These job responsibilities are executed as part of a data processing customer service department. The position will be located in a fast-paced, start up organization with the potential for a variety of unplanned activities to occur simultaneously.
