Description

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is one of the nation’s premier providers of intensive rehabilitation and specialized care for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions. Following hospitalizations for complications from premature birth, illness and injury, or when special services are needed, children and their families come to St. Mary's to receive exceptional care, learn to manage their condition, and achieve a better quality of life. 
 

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a full time speech and language pathologist for our inpatient program.  The qualified candidate will be responsible for assessment and treatment of speech and language disorders, including development, mental, and organic involvement.
Initiate diagnostic, preventive and rehabilitative procedures as appropriate to the patient's

care and safety.  This person will also be responsible for coordinating the plan of care and maintaining continuity of care by liaising with other disciplines.They will be responsible for attending patient conferences; initiating conferences for those with complex or multi disciplinary needs. They will teache, supervise and counsel the patient, family, and other health care team members in the phases of Speech Pathology in which they may assist the patient  as appropriate to the patient's condition. 

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Master's degree with a major in speech-language pathology
  • Holds a certificate of clinical competence and licensure granted by the American Speech and Hearing Association
  • Minimum of one year of experience in speech-language pathology and/or pediatric affiliation
  • TSHH a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
