Job Description

Surgical Technology Instructor

 

  • Maintain a full time teaching load of between 28-30 hours
  • Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to assure that course content and objectives are met.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate student’s learning styles.
  • Design, administer and grade examinations to assess achievement of the course objectives as identified in the syllabus.
  • Be available to advise students (office hours), tutor and provide other assistance as needed.
  • Work with the Program Director to resolve student concerns.
  • Actively work to maintain retention in all classes.
  • Attend regularly scheduled program meetings, faculty in-service workshops and faculty meetings.

  • Faculty will hold at least the minimum necessary credentials (as required accreditation).
  • Should have 3-5 years of experience in the discipline which is being taught.
  • Provide evidence of successful prior teaching experience (adult learners) via course evaluations; letters of recommendation or awards/certificates
