Description
This position will play a pivotal role in the creation and implementation of the ad department’s strategic plan to grow automotive, real estate and recruitment segments on multiple platforms. The focus is on local controllable customers. Plans are developed to aid local business units in growing market share, developing customer centric solutions and strategies, and maximizing use of resources and sales channels to grow revenue. The position will work closely with Gannett Digital Ventures to provide solutions that take advantage of the strength of our multi-media platforms. The position will require extensive work with local properties and will require travel.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow Classified and Online share in our local markets. Classified would include non-daily, preprints and other products. Plans will be executed across all distribution platforms and will include sales initiatives, new product development, sales structure and management of channels, performance, management results and enabling technology that drives efficiency. This position will work closely with Digital Ventures, the Digital Division and Market Development.
- Monitor and measure both internal and external trends, KPIs, results and market share. Work directly with newspaper sites to develop action plans to ensure revenue and other goals are met. Stay abreast of industry and media trends in all retail segments that will direct the future of the business. Participate in trade associations as needed.
- Develop the skills and core competency of our retail in field advertising executives through the creation of online training. Proactively recruit and network with external candidates who would strengthen our local advertising executive teams.
- Contribute to and collaborate on other advertising strategies that grow our overall market share.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
· Minimum of 5 years in media/sales management role.
· Strong knowledge of the classified segments and digital.
· Experience with leading and managing large scale projects to achieve desired results.
· Proven experience working with business partners both internal and external.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and use of online.
· Proven experience with development of business plans and sales proposals, analysis of trends, individual markets and/or business segments.
