Voice Telecommunications Engineer
�Customer Management - Key technical contact for day-to-day telephony support of corporate campus and field sales offices. Monitors and responds to internal trouble and service request processes, ensuring service request and problems are satisfactorily resolved in a timely manner. Ensures Service Level Agreement commitments are met on an ongoing basis.
�Vendor Management - Maintains a technical interface relationship with all vendors associated with maintenance and support of Apple�s telephony systems and voice networks. Ensures Service Level Agreement commitments are met on an ongoing basis.
�Coordinate implementation of small, medium, and large telephony related projects. Works assigned action items, to include monitoring and reporting progress in status reports. Utilizes industry standard installation practices to insure highly reliable voice services.
�Strong skills in supporting highly robust voice systems including traditional Time Division Multiplex (TDM) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Must have experience implementing and supporting systems utilizing digital signal processing, voice codecs (G711/G729 and others), telephony signaling (ISDN PRI/H323/SIP) and telephony protocols.
�In depth operational experience administering and supporting Avaya systems including Merlin, Avaya S8xxx, LSP, ESS, CMS, BCMR, Audix, Modular Messaging, older network cabinets as well as G650, G700, G450 and G350 gateways. AES (CTI) and SIP enablement services desired.
�Serve as a technical design resource for telephony projects monitoring and reporting on the process, progress and results. Capable of analyzing business telephony needs and making technical recommendations to meet the needs in a cost effective manner. Ensure designs fits in to the global GNCS architecture, is technically sound, and the best value from a business perspective. Provides engineering/analytical support for domestic and international implementation planning, and support of Apple sites as required.
�Participate as member of cross-functional teams.
�Provides input into the budget process.
�Produces telephony metrics relative to requirements and usage. Provides data analysis and development of actions to continuously improve systems performance.
�Must have strong troubleshooting abilities and excellent organizational, time management, and service delivery skills.
�Must be able to work in a fast paced work environment.
�Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities and effectively work independently or in a team environment.
�Background in Audio and Video conferencing a plus.
�Must be willing to travel and provide after hours and on call support.
�Requires AA degree in computer science or information management with 2+ years or BA degree with 1+ years experience, or equivalent. Certification on Avaya systems administration required. Cisco PBX Platforms and associated equipment are preferred.
