Description Regional Retail Sales Manager in the Advertising Department of Los Angeles Times Media Group, to coach the sales team covering the Westside Territory in selling both print and online advertising. Responsible for developing and maintaining the strategies and plans necessary to accomplish short and long term advertising revenue, linage, market share goals and expenses.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that aggressive sales presentations to potential and existing Retail clients of LATM are developed and presented.  To aggressively approach all sales opportunities with creativity and meaningful, relevant multimedia marketing solutions and maintain an awareness of revenue growth opportunities.

To actively participate with the Managing Director, Advertising Sales in a strategic planning process that produces acceptable strategies, operational plans, policies and budgets that meet both near and long term growth goals

To support all division wide projects so expense, linage, production and revenue goals are attained; to provide a periodic system of control which clearly identifies deviations from plan in linage, revenue, expense and objectives, also, to ensure corrective actions are implemented so that results are in line with company objectives.

To maintain a high level of morale and productivity among sales team members and to assure establishment of a work environment that is consistent with company philosophy.  To motivate sales teams to adhere to a high level of professionalism and to achieve high performance standards.

To research and monitor market share of competitors and to protect and improve the advertising market position of Los Angeles Times Media Group.

To research and monitor share of budget from all major advertisers both within the local market and in comparison to other similar sized markets to protect and improve OSC’s share through current and/or new products/programs

To participate in community and business activities as directed by the Managing Director.

REQUIREMENTS
College degree in business or marketing/communications.

Should possess strong skills in the use of technology/computer to include the use of various software programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Must demonstrate strong and effective communication, leadership and interpersonal skills and be capable of working within corporate policy and deadlines.  Experience managing in a cross-functional team environment preferred.

Should possess strong supervisory, analytical project planning/execution, budgeting, managerial, sales training, interpersonal and presentation skills.  Requires highly developed newspaper and online advertising, marketing, multimedia knowledge and strong negotiating skills.

Proven ability to develop and motivate people and maintain a high level of morale, productivity and customer service.

Typically requires 5-7 years of experience in a media environment.  Digital, mobile, entertainment, or technology experience preferred
