La Petite Academy was founded in 1968 by Robert Brozman, President of CenCor, Inc., who recognized the need for expanded child care programs to serve working mothers. He started with nine open-concept design preschools in Illinois; by 1983, 350 La Petite child development centers across the country were open.
Parents and children have shared the excitement and fun of learning at La Petite Academies for over 40 years. Today, there are more than 550 La Petite Academies throughout the United States.
Each of our academies is licensed by the state where it operates. Each adheres to the highest standards of safety, security, cleanliness, teaching and loving care. At the same time, each of our academies is a local, neighborhood place where parents know our teachers and staff - and each other.
La Petite Academy is a division of Learning Care Group, Inc., the second largest for-profit early child care and education provider in North America.
On January 10th, 2006, Learning Care Group, Inc. was acquired by A.B.C. Learning Centres Limited (ASX: ABS) - the largest child care service provider in Australia. Most recently, the company was taken private with Morgan Stanley Private Equity purchasing a 60 percent stake on June 25, 2008. This joint venture allows us to continue our strategic growth plan and remain focused on providing the highest quality care across all of our brands.
Guiding our efforts are the Mission, Vision and Values we have identified to define a culture of service and professional excellence. We are proud of the reputation we have earned in the child care services industry.
As part of the Learning Care Group family, La Petite Academy is poised to become the premier child and family education corporation in the world.
La Petite Academies deliver the La Petite Journey® curriculum, a preschool curriculum based on the early learning goals outlined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
Our Private Kindergarten Program offers a quality educational curriculum providing an excellent foundation for the elementary years. Teachers are able to spend time with individual students, as well as the group, and communicate often with parents to extend the bridge between home and school. We offer small class sizes and excellent teacher-child ratios. The curriculum was developed utilizing education experts both within and outside La Petite Academy. The process involved surveying and meeting with various school districts in different parts of the country to understand the curriculum currently being used both in kindergarten and first grade.
