During its first three years, the Foundation contributed over $850,000 to more than 600 charities in all the states in which Security Finance has offices.
In 1998, Security Finance adopted the Children’s Miracle Network as the recipient of its funds. The Foundation contributes on a local level to the Children’s Hospitals in the states in which we operate. The Foundation has contributed in excess of $2 million dollars to fifty-nine local Children’s Hospitals.
In addition, our Corporate Headquarters, in Spartanburg, SC, has adopted the local chapter of the March of Dimes to support through fundraising and participation in the annual Walk America. In the past five years, our corporate staff of 100+ employees has raised over $24,000 for this charity.

The Company currently offers a medical plan to all eligible employees through a self-insured plan. A person is eligible for employee coverage from the first day that he or she completes a waiting period of 90 consecutive days as a full-time employee. The effective date of coverage is the first day of the month following the 90-day waiting period. An employee is considered to be full-time if he or she maintains an average of 30 or more hours per week and is on the regular payroll of the employer for that work. In addition, Seasonal/Temporary employees are excluded from the Plan. Under the medical plan, most procedures are covered at 80% after satisfying a $300 deductible when using a network provider. Wellness visits are covered at 100% with no deductible applied up to a $300 maximum benefit level.
Prescription Drug Plan
The Company currently provides a drug card to all eligible employees. Employees are subject to the same eligibility and effective date provisions as described in the Group Insurance section. Under this plan, the employee pays $10 for Generic Drugs, $20 for Preferred Brand Drugs, $40 for Non-Preferred Brand Drugs, and $50 plus 20% of remaining balance on Specialty Drugs. A mail order program is also available for maintenance type prescriptions. The price for a 90-day supply using the mail order is $20 for Generic Drugs, $40 for Preferred Brand Name Drugs, $80 for Non-Preferred Brand Drugs, and $100 plus 20% of remaining balance on Specialty Drugs.
Group Life Insurance
The Company provides to all employees life insurance beginning at the $7,500 level and increasing to $20,000 for managers. This coverage also provides AD&D insurance equal to the amounts noted above. Employees are subject to the same eligibility and effective date provisions as described in the Group Insurance section.
Group Dental Insurance
The Company currently offers dental insurance to all eligible employees. Employees are subject to the same eligibility and effective date provisions as described in the Group Insurance section. Preventive coverage is payable at 100% without a deductible, basic coverage is payable at 80%, and major services are covered at 50%. There is a $25 per year deductible for all basic and major services.
Short/Long Term Disability
The Company currently offers short- term/long-term disability insurance to all eligible employees. This insurance is elective. Employees are subject to the same eligibility and effective date provisions as described in the Group Insurance section. The Company pays one-half of the premiums for this coverage. The employee’s portion of this premium will be payroll deducted. There is a thirty (30) day waiting period for benefits under the short-term disability plan for an approved claim. There is a ninety (90) day waiting period for benefits paid under the long-term disability plan for an approved claim. Benefits for short-term disability are calculated at 60% of pre-disability earnings with a weekly maximum benefit of $500. Benefits for long-term disability are calculated at 60% of your pre-disability earnings with a maximum monthly benefit of $5,000.
Profit Sharing
An employee must be 18 years old, complete one year of service, and work 1,000 hours within that year to be eligible for the Security Profit Sharing Plan. An account is maintained for each participant, and allocations are made to the account annually. Subject to certain limitations, each participant shares in the Company’s contribution to the Plan, gains or losses on investments, and any forfeitures for that year. An employee must have five years of service to be vested in the plan.
401K Savings Plan with a 4% company match
An employee must be 18 years old, complete one year of service, and work 1,000 hours within that year to be eligible for the 401(k) Savings Plan. An account is maintained for each participant and you may contribute from 1% to 75% of your gross pay. The Company will match the amount of your contribution dollar for dollar up to 3% of your gross pay. The Company will match 50% of the next 2% of your gross pay.
Paid holidays, vacations, sick leave and personal days are granted to eligible employees to provide time off to relax and rejuvenate
