Professional Development
Professional development is a major priority at Woodard & Curran. In order to maintain and develop the high level of expertise and professionalism for which Woodard & Curran is known, all employees need to be committed to continuous improvement as it relates to their professional development. In order to achieve this goal, Woodard & Curran provides:
- Tuition reimbursement for courses directly or reasonably related to an employee's present job or part of a planned career development program
- Training required for certifications (such as a P.E. license or a wastewater treatment operator license) and additional job skills
- Membership in professional and technical societies
- An in-house training program Support for participation in seminars and short courses
- Bi-annual performance reviews for all employees
- A marketing publication/presentation incentive program
Medical
Woodard & Curran offers two indemnity plans and one HMO (New England only) plan. Benefit options include vision, prescription drug program, and domestic partner coverage. Medical coverage is effective the first day of employment.
Dental
Woodard & Curran offers a competitive dental program including preventative care, basic care, major restorative, and orthodontia. Orthodontia is available to both children and adults. Dental coverage is effective the first day of employment.
Vision
Woodard & Curran offers a comprehensive managed eye-care program to help assist with eye exams, glasses and contact lenses. Employees who elect vision coverage may choose the ophthalmologist of their choice. Vision coverage is effective the first day of employment.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Benefit eligible employees may defer income into Flexible Spending Accounts (also known as 125 accounts) for non-reimbursed healthcare and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis.
Holidays and Vacation
Woodard & Curran recognizes the importance of providing the opportunity for rest, recreation and personal activities. Employees receive 11 paid holidays each year. Vacation time is accrued bi-weekly and can be used immediately. Employees are encouraged to use all of their vacation and holiday time each year.
Profit Sharing
On an annual basis Woodard & Curran, a privately held company, shares the profits of the company with all employees through two methods: a discretionary match to the 401(k) program and a discretionary profit sharing check to all employees. The profitability of the Company from year to year governs if and how much discretionary bonus is distributed.
401(k)
Woodard & Curran provides a 401(k) program for all employees wishing to save for retirement. Employees may sign up during any of the quarterly open-enrollment periods and may defer up to 25% of their gross pay not to exceed the annual federal limit. Contributions can be invested in up to 12 different mutual funds and 2 different index funds, with an annual discretionary match by Woodard & Curran. All contributions are 100% vested.
Disability Insurance
Woodard & Curran provides short-term and long-term disability insurance to employees. These policies provide financial protection to employees while they are disabled due to injury, illness or pregnancy and unable to work.
Life Insurance
Woodard & Curran provides all benefit eligible employees a basic life insurance benefit including dependent life, survivor income and accidental death and dismemberment benefits. Employees may also enroll in additional optional life insurance for themselves or family members.
Employee Assistance Program
Woodard & Curran offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all eligible employees and family members to help aid in their well-being. This is a confidential resource and referral program offering a wide range of innovative services aimed at making the employee's life more productive and stress free. This service addresses such things as child and elder care issues, financial planning and debt management, legal issues, work related problems, depression and alcohol and drug abuse.
Employee Purchase Program
Woodard & Curran offers an Employee Purchase Program (EPP) to all employees enabling them to purchase technology products and services at a discounted rate through a leading provider.
Optional Savings Plans
Through payroll deduction employees may elect to have money withheld from their paycheck on an after-tax basis for savings in a mutual fund account such as a Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Individual IRA, Joint IRA, or an UTMA account as well as 529 College Investing Plans.
Long Term Care Policy
All employees are eligible to purchase an optional Long Term Care Policy for themselves, their spouse, partner, parents, parents-in-law, and children (including adopted & foster) between the ages of 18-84 at a premium discounted rate. Long Term Care Insurance helps provide you and your loved ones with added protection against the costs of care due to a long-term illness.
